APSAC Issues Statement in Support of AAP Statement on the Harms of Hitting Children

This morning, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) released a long-awaited statement calling for an end to corporal punishment. APSAC believes that hitting children is one of the leading precursors to physical and psychological maltreatment, and strongly supports the statement by the AAP. We urge all APSAC members and any professional who works to support the health and wellbeing of children to integrate this message into your practice.

APSAC has issued a statement supporting the AAP, and we urge you to read and share it.

We also encourage you to help promote the benefits of establishing No Hit Zones in your agency and throughout your community; please find more information here and register your No Hit Zone here.
